Cinderella Obeñita was born in 1996 in Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines.  Her parents raised her in a well-educated family. Cinderella graduated with a degree in Mass Communication from Liceo de Cagayan University.

She advocates for press freedom as a student journalist. She is currently employed by the provincial government of Misamis Oriental as a tourism operations officer. She also works as an event host, model, and brand endorser on the side.

Cinderella Obeñita, who is a 25-year-old tourism officer is the winner of the Miss Intercontinental Title, Philippines.  The Philippines’ Cinderella Faye Obeñita was crowned Miss Intercontinental 2021 on Friday night, October 29 in Egypt (early Saturday, October 30, Manila time).

Obeñita knocked out over 70 other contestants to win the Philippines’ second Miss Intercontinental title, following Karen Gallman’s victory in 2018.

The Binibining Pilipinas organization said in its congratulatory message to Obeñita, “From wild card to Miss Intercontinental 2021, your Cinderella story is truly inspiring. Thank you for raising our flag, Cinderella.”

Obeñita was questioned during the final question and answer round and her question was, “As an international ambassador, do you believe that knowing English is crucial for Miss Intercontinental?  Can you tell me why or why not?”

Obeñita then amazed the crowd and online viewers by saying, “As an ambassador, I don’t think that speaking a specific language is extremely significant here in Miss Intercontinental or any contest at all”. No matter what language she speaks, as long as that lady is a woman of power and grace, intelligence, and commitment, and she is a woman of style and substance, she can win whatever pageant or enterprise she enters.

She further added, “Also, as I have discovered here at Miss Intercontinental, a woman’s power of a substance is crucial. And I believe I am that woman since that is the essence of a modern-day Miss Intercontinental that we live in a world where survival is very hard. And as Miss Intercontinental, I’d like to be that beacon of hope and inspiration for the true power of beauty. And that is reflected in the warmth of our hearts and definitely in the integrity of our loving actions.”

At Binibining Pilipinas 2021, the 25-year-old beauty queen represented Cagayan de Oro. She received the most fan votes, earning her the spot in the Top 13 of the pageant.  She was crowned Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2021, giving her the opportunity to compete in the international competition. Obeñita flew to Egypt 13 weeks before the competition in October.

Karen Gallman is the first Filipina to win the Miss Intercontinental title in 2018, while Obeñita is the second Filipina to win the title. Paulina Uceda, Mexico (1st runner-up), Romy Simpkins, England (2nd runner-up), Kelly-Mary Anette, Seychelles (3rd runner-up), Kaitlyn Li, Canada (4th runner-up), and Maria Paula Castillo (5th runner-up), are the other continental queens’ runners-up.

Cindy’s activism revolves around women’s empowerment.  She adds that she believes that she was born to be on the Bb. Filipinas stage, not just for the glamour and glitz, but also for the influence it has in making Filipino women relevant in today’s up-to-date world.

In one of her Instagram posts, she said that let’s continue to proclaim that real women empowerment is not defined by the number of women in power, in business, or in government, but by the excellence with which we meet the demands of women and the most vulnerable in society. “
